Make Your Own WEB PAGE!   A Guide for Kids by Ted Pedersen and Francis Moss

I learned through OJT and self-study how to create a website, but if I didn't know how to do it, this is the book I would pick up first. It gets a deserved five-star rating on amazon.com. With step-by-step instructions that cover the basics from staying safe on the Internet, to planning and designing pages, and getting your site up and running, kids can become part of the Internet! And don't be fooled because the book is written for kids. The best books in the world are written for kids! They're a primary source of clear information when you need to write about something you've never heard of before. Make Your Own WEB PAGE! teaches the essential elements of HTML, adding tables, background colors and pictures, inserting hyperlinks, launching your website and promoting your website so you'll have visitors. Not forgotten is maintaining your website and finding additional help after the initial project is completed. Click here to order Make Your Own WEB PAGE!

Grant Writing for Dummies® by Bev Browning.

I've always hated the concept of the Dummies series. What more insulting title could an author/publisher come up with, after all? We go to great lengths to teach our children that no one's a dummy, and then as adults, we're slapped in the face at the bookstore or online by this ubiquitous series. But recently, Hungry Minds™ (Dummies series now sold to John Wiley & Sons) seems to have heightened the emphasis on the front cover that the books are "A Reference for the Rest of Us!"  Smart move. In this case, if you've ever wondered what it takes to write a grant for a non-profit organization, or why some organizations seem to get funding for the silliest projects, while deserving projects wither on the vine for lack of support, this book will lay it all out for you. Whether you're a first time grant writer or a veteran, it explains the critical components to include, as well as what you should never do. Check out Grant Writing for Dummies. An increasing number of technical writers are reinventing themselves as grant writing consultants, since a great deal of the work can be done at a home office.

We'll continue to review a variety of interesting books on various topics:
