Pauline Hager and her husband lived in Naka, Japan from July 1994 to December 1996.  Living in housing designed for Westerners, their neighbors included people from The European Union, Russia, Canada, Japan and the United States.  Being as ignorant of the  complicated rules of Japanese social behavior as most of the rest of us are, Pauline committed many faux pas. Trips included Nikko National Park, Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, and Hokkaido Island.
